Top 5 Travel and Local Apps on Android in New Zealand Q4 2023

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the Travel and Local category on the Android platform in New Zealand saw interesting trends among the top 5 apps. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated diverse patterns in weekly downloads and active users.

Air NZ experienced a moderate decline in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 2.6K in late September and tapering off to around 1.9K by the end of December. Active users followed a similar trend, beginning the quarter at about 6.6K and reducing to 5.9K in the final week of December.

Airbnb showed fluctuations in weekly downloads, with a peak of about 2.4K in mid-November and a noticeable increase to 2.3K in the last week of December. Active users saw a consistent rise, starting at 15.8K and reaching over 20.1K by the end of the quarter.

NZTD witnessed a significant drop in weekly downloads, from 2.1K at the beginning of the quarter to just 800 by the end of December. The app's performance in terms of active users wasn't recorded.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a stable performance in weekly downloads, starting at 1.6K and slightly increasing to 1.8K by the end of December. The app maintained a strong base of active users, beginning the quarter with 139.5K and closing with 156.7K.

Beam - Escooter sharing demonstrated a positive trend in weekly downloads, growing from 889 in late September to 1.7K by the end of December. Active users also increased steadily, from around 3.1K to nearly 4K during the same period.
